About Bield
Bield was established in 1971 in response to the “housing and social crisis” confronting many older people in Scotland.
Bield Housing Association, established in 1971, provides a broad range of supported housing together with a major programme of home and day care initiatives and a nationwide community alarm service.
Bield Housing Trust, established in 1975, is a charitable trust working in partnership with the Association to raise funds, to support Bield’s leading programme and to help promote new initiatives.
From early small beginnings Bield has developed as a leading innovative provider of specialist housing, care and community services to more than 15,000 older people in need and at risk in Scotland.
